Westcon Group (News - Alert), a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data center, and security solutions with a network of specialty resellers, recently announced that it has extended its distribution agreement with Polycom (News 
- Alert) Inc., a global provider of standards-based unified communications (UC) solutions for telepresence, video, and voice powered by the Polycom RealPresence Platform.
As the result of extension in agreement, Polycom’s converged voice and video solutions will now also be available to Westcon’s resellers in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. The solutions were earlier available to Westcon’s resellers in North America and only certain parts of Europe. With increasing demand in unified communication solutions, Polycom can reap great benefits from the expansion of its distribution agreement with Westcon.

To harness the power of collaboration, companies need the right video and voice technology to connect and share,” said Martin Flensburg, general manager of Westcon Nordics. “With a longstanding and highly successful relationship already in place, Westcon is well positioned to further drive Polycom's premier unified communications solutions across Europe.”

In related news, Westcon Group was recently named “EMEA Distributor of the Year” by Juniper Networks (News - Alert). Westcon was honored at the first annual Juniper Networks Global Partner Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 17. The award is the second time Westcon has received this honor from Juniper Networks in three years, with the award previously being received at regional events.
