Location-based services like Google (News - Alert) Maps and Wisepilot are supposed to help users find the way to destination. X10 features Turbo 3G which gives broadband-like speed in the phone allowing users to download large files and email attachments in a snap and receive Web sites and news feeds to screen in seconds.

Paul Hamnett, senior vice president of Sony Ericsson North America has said that Sony Ericsson is raising the bar for entertainment-rich phones with the launch of the Xperia X10. With the convergence of their user experience platform and the Android (News - Alert) OS, they are bringing consumers a smartphone experience that is not only exciting, but also very refined. Following the successful global launch of the Xperia X10, they are pleased to partner with AT&T (News - Alert) to launch this phone in the U.S. market.

The new Xperia X10 also comes with two signature applications, Mediascape and Timescape, build on the Android platform to enhance the experience for users. Mediascape on the Xperia X10 gathers music, photos, videos and content from the phone's memory card and online, letting the user browse, search, listen and share their media from one unified view. Timescape automatically organizes social interactions in chronological order, leaving users free to concentrate on keeping in touch on-the-go.
